Tiger Shuttle Anouncements on your Phone

  Imagine...
Your dragging back to your office after lunch.
Work is really boring.
The boss is out of town.
It's a beautiful day.

Bbrrring!!
You get a text message on your phone: "TIGER IS ON!  Soarable...3K
over launch!"

You've got your keys in your pocket. Wing's in the car.
GO!    The Blue Van is waiting in the LZ for you!

As part of an ongoing effort to keep the Tiger Mountain Shuttle in business and running us up Tiger, we've come up with a quick and easy way to let you know that it's a flyable day at Tiger.  Cell phone alerts!

Michael Miller sends out emails to the Yahoo Groups list. You can also sign up to receive text emails on your cell phone for when you don't have access to email.

Method #1:

For those who are subscribed to nwparagliding@yahoogroups.com:

  1. Go to the Alerts page of Yahoo.
It will ask you to sign in if you have not already done so.
  2. Hit the "Get Started Button" and select "Mail" as the type of alert.
  3. Follow the steps to register your mobile phone to receive alerts. (cf.: Visual Guide for setup)
There are about 4 distinct steps, and you will need your phone with you to complete them.
  4. The last step is to set up a filter. (cf.: Visual Guide for Alerts)
Click on Options, Click on Filters, Click on Add
Create a filter on "FROM HEADER contains "TigerShuttle@comcast.net."
Be sure to check the box at the bottom "Send an alert to my mobile device."

Whenever Michael sends a "shuttle's running" email to YahooGroups, it
will be sent immediately to your cell phone.

Disclaimer #1: YahooGroups is not the official mail source for NWPC. But quite a few  club members use it to shoot the breeze and occasionally each other.

Method #2:

  1. Send an email with your first and last name and mobile number to:
    TigerShuttleAlert@nwparagliding.com
  2. Allow a few days for your number to be added to the group distribution list.

** Make sure your phone is enabled to receive text messages. If you
are unsure, call your cell phone carrier.

Disclaimer #2:  The NWPC does not promote nor encourage skipping out
of work on beautiful days unless it is flyable.
